Summary

A typical Codd-neck glass bottle from Thrissur in the state of Kerala, India. Such bottles used to be in great circulation until a few decades ago for distributing carbonated drinking water (Soda Water), all over India and elsewhere. However, after the introduction of cheaper and safer crown-top bottles, their use was reduced to almost extinction. This bottle was found from the salvaged remains of a defunct mini-convenience store and was photographed just before it would be permanently mounted (fixed by concrete) as a show-piece atop the gate of a local brickyard.
