Summary

An example of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/convection" class="extiw" title="en:convection">convection</a>. Though the flow may be <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/steady_flow" class="extiw" title="en:steady flow">steady</a> (time independent), the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fluid" class="extiw" title="en:fluid">fluid</a> decelerates as it moves down the diverging duct (assuming <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/incompressible_flow" class="extiw" title="en:incompressible flow">incompressible</a> or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mach_number" class="extiw" title="en:Mach number">subsonic</a> compressible flow), hence there is an acceleration happening over position.
