Fake Eleanor Cross, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sledmere" class="extiw" title="en:Sledmere">Sledmere</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Riding_of_Yorkshire" class="extiw" title="en:East Riding of Yorkshire">East Riding of Yorkshire</a>, England.
This is a fake Eleanor Cross... the original 12, of which only two remain at Waltham Cross, Geddington and at Hardingstone, were erected in memory of Eleanor of Castile, wife of Edward I. When she died, Edward had the twelve crosses erected along the route of her funeral procession between Lincoln and Westminster Abbey. During the 19th and 20th centuries several fake Eleanor Crosses were erected.
