"General Sherman's Campaign. - The Rebel Assault on Logan's Position in the Battle at Dallas, May 28, 1864 - Sketched by Theodore R. Davis.
Note that the source website misidentifies the general on the horse as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Armstrong_Custer" class="extiw" title="en:George Armstrong Custer">George Armstrong Custer</a>. In reviewing the reprint of Harper's magazine it is clear that this is intended to show General Logan. Note also that Custer was not with Sherman's army.
