Ziegler, Jr.</a>'s book Landmark Architecture of Allegheny County (1967, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_History_and_Landmarks_Foundation" class="extiw" title="en:Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation">Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation</a>, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_of_Congress_Control_Number" class="extiw" title="en:Library of Congress Control Number">LCCN</a>) it says, "The house was once owned by Harry Darlington, a businessman (railroads) and philanthropist who was involved in organizing the Allegheny Preparatory school."
