Summary
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemimorphite" class="extiw" title="en:Hemimorphite">Hemimorphite</a>
-
- Locality: Wenshan Mine, Dulong ore field, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wenshan_County" class="extiw" title="en:Wenshan County">Wenshan County</a>, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yunnan" class="extiw" title="en:Yunnan">Yunnan Province</a>, China (<a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="http://www.mindat.org/loc-21241.html">Locality at mindat.org</a>)
- Size: 10.9 x 9.1 x 4.3 cm.
- Wenshan is known for its colorful blue hemimorphites, and in fact they have always been prized since they have never come out in volume. But just look at this incredible color and the luster! I have simply never seen hemimorphite from here or ANYWHERE with color like this - and the surface is a wonderfully shiny field of botryoidal forms. It is even slightly translucent, reminiscent of the apple-colored smithsonite from the 79 Mine in Hayden in many ways other than color.
