Summary

Fatma Seher Erden (1888-1955) also known as 'Kara Fatma' was a Turkish war hero. She married an officer called Derviş Bey and fought with him in the Balkan War. She also organized a group of 9-10 women and fought at Caucasusu front in WWI. Her husband was killed by Armenians. This led to her joining the National Forces of Mustafa Kemal Pasha and fought againts Armenians. She established a band and fought againts the invading Greeks at Bursa and Iznik. Her son and her doughter ware also members of her band. The band had 35 fighters. After the wars she was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lt.
