Summary
A medical <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/arc_lamp" class="extiw" title="en:arc lamp">carbon arc lamp</a> from around 1909. It consists of two carbon rod electrodes supplied with mains current creating an electric arc between them, which emitted a brilliant white light. Arc light was rich in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ultraviolet_light" class="extiw" title="en:ultraviolet light">ultraviolet light</a> and was used to treat various skin conditions.
