There were seven ABA teams that finished the final <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1975%E2%80%9376_ABA_season" class="extiw" title="en:1975–76 ABA season">ABA season</a>. The teams in Indianapolis, San Antonio, Denver, and New York (which also hosted the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Knicks" class="extiw" title="en:New York Knicks">Knicks</a>) joined the NBA. The teams in St. Louis, Virginia, and Kentucky went defunct.
