Summary

A round bale of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hay" class="extiw" title="en:Hay">hay</a>, made from grass, which has been partially eaten by sheep, near <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naracoorte" class="extiw" title="en:Naracoorte">Naracoorte</a>, South Australia. Note the denser hay at the center of the bale. Round bales are harder to handle and store than square bales, but are generally preferred because they compress the hay more tightly.
