File:Salvia jurisicii x nutans - Flickr - peganum.jpg
Summary
The upper tray are seedlings of S.nutans from the front garden, the lower, of S.jurisicii growing nearby. The jurisicii look about right but the nutans are a very mixed bunch. Those on the left are what i'd expect and may be pure selfed nutans but those on the right are obviously very different - intermediate between the parents and showing a quite dramatic degree of hybrid vigour - flowering in their first year most obviously where the others are nowhere near flowering size. Whether the hybrids will be worth growing in their own right remains to be seen. I may have to come up with a cultivar name.
