Wheel house and tailrace at <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spalding_Power_Plant_and_Dam" class="extiw" title="w:Spalding Power Plant and Dam">Spalding Power Plant and Dam</a> complex in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spalding,_Nebraska" class="extiw" title="w:Spalding, Nebraska">Spalding, Nebraska</a>; seen looking west (upstream). Water is diverted from the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_River_(Nebraska)" class="extiw" title="w:Cedar River (Nebraska)">Cedar River</a> into a headrace; passes through a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroelectric_power" class="extiw" title="w:Hydroelectric power">hydroelectric</a> generator in the wheel house; and returns to the river via the tailrace. The complex is listed in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places" class="extiw" title="w:National Register of Historic Places">National Register of Historic Places</a>. The wheel house was built in 1913.
