Armed with a 5.56 mm M16A1 rifle a 12th Security Forces Squadron (SFS) member conducts a 100 percent ID check at Randolph AFB, Texas, as part of heightened security measures. Heighten security at Randolph AFB began shortly after terrorists hijacked commercial jetliners and crashing them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
