St. James Church of England, Toowoomba, 1869. St. James Church of England opened for services in December 1869. The architect was R. G. Suter and the builder was R. Godsall. The bell tower, which is still under construction in this image, was completed and the bell hung on 8 June 1870. The foundation stone was laid by Governor Blackall on 1 May 1869.
