File:Ulster Bank premises on The Quays, Waterford October 23, 1928.jpg
Summary
Ulster Bank premises on The Quays, Waterford before renovation. The building to the left, with 1876 carved over the doorway is a post office still, and think that it was then. The Ulster Bank's still at <a href="<a rel="nofollow" class="external free" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Barronstrand+Street,+Waterford,+Ireland&hl=en&ll=52.261488,-7.108862&spn=0.000811,0.002336&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.122306,76.552734&vpsrc=0&hnear=Barronstrand+St,+Waterford,+County+Waterford,+Ireland&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=52.261525,-7.109028&panoid=3bzvonj8nMOqMv-AyAsGvg&cbp=12,181.88,,0,2.89">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Barronstrand+Street,+Waterford,+Ireland&hl=en&ll=52.261488,-7.108862&spn=0.000811,0.002336&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.122306,76.552734&vpsrc=0&hnear=Barronstrand+St,+Waterford,+County+Waterford,+Ireland&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=52.261525,-7.109028&panoid=3bzvonj8nMOqMv-AyAsGvg&cbp=12,181.88,,0,2.89</a>" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">this location</a>.
The little shop at no. 99, the Sweet Stores, has a lovely metal sign for Player's Navy Cut Cigarettes. A shopkeeper in white overalls can be seen peering out from under the bananas, with lots of fruit in the window - including tomatoes? Upstairs, signs on the windows read Goodman's Studios, and there's a woman leaning out of a second floor window.
Shutters on no. 97 and 98, the proposed premises of Ulster Bank Ltd., have POST NO BILLS stencilled, but there's been time for plenty of chalked graffiti and doodles to be added by the local citizenry. A plaque on the front corner reads FP 22 Ft.
