The sequence of shots was taken October 21, 2011 from 21:18:03 to 21:35:28 GMT, on a pass from just west of the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom" title="United Kingdom">United Kingdom</a> over <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ireland" class="mw-disambig" title="Ireland">Ireland</a> to just south-east of the Arabian Peninsula. At the beginning of this <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Night" class="mw-redirect" title="Night">night</a>-time video, the main Western European cities stand out significantly. The <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/English_Channel" class="mw-redirect" title="English Channel">English Channel</a> is seen as a <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Black" class="mw-redirect" title="Black">black</a> pathway separating the United Kingdom and northern <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/France" title="France">France</a>, <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Belgium" class="mw-redirect" title="Belgium">Belgium</a>, and the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Netherlands" class="mw-redirect" title="Netherlands">Netherlands</a>. Large cities like <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/London" title="London">London</a>, <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Paris" title="Paris">Paris</a>, and <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Brussels" class="mw-redirect" title="Brussels">Brussels</a> stand out as brightly-lit clusters of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Light" title="Light">light</a>. The pass continues south-east towards <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Slovenia" class="mw-redirect" title="Slovenia">Slovenia</a> and <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Croatia" class="mw-redirect" title="Croatia">Croatia</a>, with <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Lightning" title="Lightning">lightning</a> storms by the Boot of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Italy" class="mw-redirect" title="Italy">Italy</a>. The <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Black_Sea" class="mw-redirect" title="Black Sea">Black Sea</a> comes up down the track as the dark patch amongst lights, which is due east of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Turkey" class="mw-redirect" title="Turkey">Turkey</a>. Travelling further south-east, Cypress and cities along the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mediterranean_Sea" title="Mediterranean Sea">Mediterranean Sea</a> coast stand out before the Syrian Desert on the Arabian Peninsula. Near the end of the video and in the south-eastern portion of the Arabian Peninsula shows the populated cities of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Dubai" class="mw-redirect" title="Dubai">Dubai</a> and <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Doha" class="mw-redirect" title="Doha">Doha</a>. This pass ends over the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Arabian_Sea" title="Category:Arabian Sea">Arabian Sea</a>.
