Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Friedrich Zickwolff (1 August 1893 – 17 September 1944) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Zickwolff died on 17 September 1944 from an infectious disease contracted while serving on the Eastern Front. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ludwigsburg on 21 September 1944.[1]
