Extracurricular Activities

As for other extracurricular activities, the fine arts department is excelling. Band and color guard have won numerous awards and competitions for years with competitions throughout the football season. As of the 2015 season, the school has only been open 6 years and the band has made Sweepstakes ratings (A rating of 1 from all 3 judges, the best rating possible) every single year. These hardworking students went to UIL Area finals in the 2015 season, but got unfairly judged based on their prelims performance and did not make state because of that. The drill team has also successfully competed in spring competitions throughout the years. Finally, the theatre program has performed many great musicals and plays with the UIL groups delivering an outstanding performance each time. The Lone Star High School has an up-and-coming Rodeo Squad team which has had a very successful first season with an average of 8.34 seconds or more per team member on the bulls.
