George Roland Parvin (20 July 1917 – 27 December 1997) was a director of IPC Business Press Ltd, at the end of his career. He was also made an MBE and appeared in the Queen's Birthday Honour list of June 1982.[1]

He served honorably during the Second World War in the Pacific theater. Eventually he was captured and made a POW by the Japanese Army. His war experiences were later published in a book that he personally authored called "Yasumai!" (1958, Digit Books)[verification needed]. He told many of his war stories in the War Picture Library Illustrated Series published during the late '50s and early 60's
