Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is one of Tampa Bay's largest independent film festivals. It was established in the summer of 2006 and is operated by the Tampa Film Institute, a full-time 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing film education and supporting filmmakers, as well as community involvement in film in the Tampa Bay area. The Festival maintains an Executive Director and a volunteer staff of over 70.

The festival is known for screening fairly large films with big actors. 2013 included the film The Iceman with Michael Shannon. 2014 included Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal and Boys of Abu Ghraib with Sean Astin.

In addition to the annual film festival, GIFF provides local residents with monthly screenings of the Global Lens series at the Tampa Museum of Art, and other special film and entertainment events year round.
