Glavny starshina (Russian: Гла́вный старшина́; literal: chief/ senior petty officer) is in the Navy of the Russian Federation the designation to the second highest rank in the patty officer´s career group. The rank is equivalent to Starshij sershant in Army and Air Force. According to NATO-ranksystem the rank might be comparable to OR-7 in Anglophone armed forces.

The rank was introduced to the Soviet Navy 1940 to 1943.

  • Glavny starshina of the ship (OR-8)
  • Glavny starshina (OR-7)
  • Starshina 1st stage (OR-6)
