Gretel is a German shortening of the name Margarete. It may refer to:

  • Gretel, one of the main characters in the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Hansel and Gretel
  • Gretel Bergmann (born 1914), German Jewish high jumper who was prevented from competing in the 1936 Berlin Olympics
  • Gretel Ehrlich (born 1946), American travel writer, poet, and essayist
  • Gretel Killeen (born 1963), Australian presenter
  • Cyclone Gretel, in 1985
  • Gretel (yacht), a 12-metre yacht that competed in the 1962 America's Cup
  • Gretel II, a 12-metre yacht that competed in the 1970 America's Cup
