Guangzhou Medical University (GMU, Chinese: 广州医科大学), formerly known as Guangzhou Medical College, is a Chinese medical school located in Guangzhou which is the third largest port city in China, Guangdong Province. It was established in 1958. Guangzhou Medical University is composed of four campuses. The main Campus is located in Dongfeng Road West and the other three campuses are in Longdong, Haizhu and Jianggao
GMU faces 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Chinese central government, Hong Kong and Macao regions to recruit 1,500 undergraduates and 550 postgraduates (master and doctors) in each year. It exists 23300 full-time students, including 10000 undergraduates, 1300 graduates, and 12000 continuing educational students.[1]
GMU has excellent facilities. More than 90% of the current equipment are A and B class, and value of them is￥67.4972 million yuan. GMU provide a good informationize education environment, with modern teaching management command center and audiovisual education centre. All teaching places have basic implementation of air conditioning, networked and e-service. The new dormitories for undergraduates provide phone calls, network television, soccer field with artificial turf, and plastic runway track.[2]

Grounds
The university covers 0.2069 million for the building of teaching, 0.1053 million for administration building, 38.8 thousand square meter for dormitory, and 22.8 thousands for gymkana. The total area for GMU is 20.83 million square meter.[3]
Internship
The internship starts from 2013 with duration of 48 weeks. Students have to apply the internship in the 8 affiliated hospitals of Guangzhou Medical University. Before the internship, students need to reach HSK 3 (Han Yu Shui Ping Kao Shi).[4]
MBBS Degree
(Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) Complete the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully. If international medical undergraduates meet the degree regulations, then they will award a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by GMU. The English copy of the degree will state as MBBS. After obtaining MBBS Degree, the undergraduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need the academic accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing-homes and other health facilities. Except start his/her own clinic.[5]
Reputation
“Nan Yue Outstanding Graduate Student” campaign start with 1993 in GuangDong province, GMU always among the best of candidates.[6]
Motto
GMU’s motto, chosen from Chinese is诚信务实，自强不息，敢为人先，追求卓越. The Chinese motto is literally translated as “pragmatic integrity, self-discipline, always to be the first and pursuit of excellence”, and has been in use since the 1958s. Yesterday, GMU’s rapid expansion with this spirits become the national key university. Today, GMU needs to inherit and carry forward the spirits more than others to overcome difficulties. Tomorrow, these spirits will be GMU’s motivation to move ahead.[7]
