Guru Kelu Nair

Guru Kelu Nair was a Kathakali artist and teacher. He had his training in Kathakali from Kerala Kalamandalam under the great Gurus like Pattikkantodi Ravunni Menon and Guru Kunchu Kurup. He had his higher studies in Rasa-abhinaya from the all-time great Rasa-abhinaya maestro Guru Nātyāchārya Vidūshakaratnam Padma Shri Māni Mādhava Chākyār. Subsequently he moved to Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan as faculty and taught Kathakali there.[1] He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1995 for his outstanding contribution to the field of Kathakali.[2]
