History

The land on which Halltown is located was granted by Lord Fairfax to William Hall in 1763, then a part of Frederick County, Virginia, later Berkeley and after 1801, Jefferson County. Hall erected a grist mill on the site and later a fulling mill at the center of what later formed into the village of Halltown.
