Hempstead Village Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the incorporated Village of Hempstead in the Town of Hempstead on Long Island. Established in 1875 it currently has approximately 119 sworn police officers.[1]
HPD Headquarters is located at 99 Nichols Court, Hempstead, NY.
The Police Chief is Micheal McGowan.
