High Point, Missouri

High Point is an unincorporated community in southern Moniteau County, Missouri, United States. It is located ten miles south of California about one mile west of Route 87. High Point is mainly a rural area. Although it is mainly rural there is a school and church (High Point Baptist Church). High Point has a low population with most addresses going to California, Eldon, Russellville, Versailles and Barnett.
History
High Point was named from its location on a high prairie.[1]
A post office in High Point was opened in 1852, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1973.[2]

- Louis F. Hart, seventh Lieutenant Governor, and ninth Governor, of the state of Washington.[3]
