Hingalganj (community development block) is an administrative division in Basirhat subdivision of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Hingalganj police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Hingalganj.[1]

Hingalganj community development block has an area of 230.40 km2.[2]

Gram panchayats

Gram panchayats of Hingalganj block/ panchayat samiti are: Bishpur, Hingalganj, Rupamari, Dulduli, Jogeshganj, Sahebkhali, Gobindakati, Kalitala and Sandelerbil.[3]

Dulduli gram panchayat has two parts in the two island. One parts is in the main island where the blcok office is situated and the next part is in the island where the Sahebkhali,Gobindakathi,Kalitala and Jogeshganj is situated .

Demographics

As per 2001 census, Hingalganj block has a total population of 156,568 out of which 80,487 were males and 76,081 were females. Hingalganj block registered a population growth of 10.03 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade. Decadal growth for the district was 22.40 per cent.[2] Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[4]
