Hippodraco ("horse" (hippos in Greek) and "dragon" (draco in Latin)) is a genus of herbivorous iguanodontian dinosaur. It is a basal iguanodontian which lived during the Lower Cretaceous period (Upper Barremian-lowermost Aptian age, about 124 million years ago) in what is now Utah, USA. Its type specimen, UMNH VP 20208, is the associated skeleton of a single individual, including a nearly complete skull and partial postcranium. This specimen was recovered from the Yellow Cat Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation, Utah.[1] Hippodraco was named by Andrew T. McDonald, James I. Kirkland, Donald D. DeBlieux, Scott K. Madsen, Jennifer Cavin, Andrew R. C. Milner, and Lukas Panzarin in 2010, and the type species is Hippodraco scutodens.[1]
