iGrad is an educational technology company founded by a group of former financial aid professionals [1] in January 2009 to provide online financial literacy tools and content for college bound, college students and recent college graduates. iGrad also administers Entrance and Exit loan counseling [2] for students with federal student loans.[3]

Credit Union Student Choice has integrated iGrad’s standard platform into the cobranded websites of Student Choice credit union clients e.g., SESLOC, UMassFive College Federal Credit Union, Michigan First Credit Union) – nearly 250 nationwide. Before applying for a loan, students and co-borrowers are encouraged to complete a module consisting of videos, a short series of questions, information on career salary expectations, and interactive calculators to help them better understand the implications of borrowing for college.

Financial literacy curriculum

On June 25, 2014, iGrad released a college-level financial literacy curriculum.[6] To develop the curriculum, iGrad partnered with author Sharon Lechter and Pay Your Family First. The curriculum is delivered via the flipped classroom method and meets all the requirements set by the Department of Treasury for financial literacy. Nearly a year later, in April of 2015, iGrad and the University of Illinois launched an online certification course training educators on how to teach the topic of financial literacy.[7]
