This is a list of States and Union Territories of India ranked by the Riots rate as on 2012, and represents the number of riots occurred for every 100,000 persons. The list is compiled from the 2012 Crime in India Report published by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Government of India.[1] The rate is calculated according to incidents charged with sections 143-145,147-151,153,153A,153B, 157, 158,160 of the Indian Penal Code
Kerala has the highest Riots Rate of 31.4 as on 2012, while Punjab and Meghalaya had the lowest rates.
