The International Peace Observers Network (IPON) is an independent, non-violent human rights, non-profit organization based in Hamburg, Germany. The main work is to provide protective accompaniment human rights defenders and to monitor the human rights situation in the Philippines. IPON aims to a situation where the human rights are respected and the accompanied groups are able to undertake their work free from threats, violence and repression and an insecure environment.[1][2][3][4]

Upon request, international volunteers, they work as Peaceworker, have accompanied groups of human rights defenders (HRD) in the Philippines, currently in the iland of Luzon, Negros and Mindanao. The information that has been gathered directly in the conflict area, and has been analysed by the observers, are brought to the attention of an international public. This way the international pressure on the Philippines to guarantee human rights rises. The publication of human rights violations will finally lead to their decrease and prevention.[5]

The work of IPON started 2006.
