History
Roger Greene founded Ipswitch in 1991 with the aim of crafting user-friendly software for small businesses. Roger started the company out of his apartment without any Venture capital funding or bank financing. The company became profitable in its second year. The first product from Ipswitch was a gateway that allowed the Novell Inc. IPX networking protocol to connect with the Internet Protocol.[1] In the mid-1990s, it was a value-added reseller of the Spyglass Mosaic browser.[2]
Acquisitions
In 2010, Ipswitch purchased Dorian Software, which produces system log analysis and compliance software.[3]
