J C Hartman is a former Major League Baseball shortstop. He played parts of two seasons, 1962 and 1963, for the Houston Colt .45s. Hartman also played for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1955, when they were a barnstorming team. JC's nickname was "The Spider" because of his long arms and legs which extended to prodigious lengths when he ranged after ground balls.
