Elections

  • 2010 When Democratic Representative Branden Durst left the 18A seat open to run for the District 18 senate seat, Ward-Engelking was unopposed in the May 25, 2010 Primary Election,[4] but lost the November 2, 2010 General Election to Ellsworth by 7 votes, 6,421 to 6,428.[5]
  • 2012 Ward-Engelking was unopposed for the May 15, 2012 Democratic Primary with 1,357 votes,[6] setting up a rematch of the 2010 contest against Republican Julie Ellsworth. Ward-Engelking won the November 6, 2012 General election with 11,693 votes (55.3%).[7]

In November 2013 Ward-Engelking expressed interest in being appointed to the Idaho Senate to succeed Durst, who resigned.[8] On December 20, 2013, Gov. Butch Otter appointed her to the Idaho Senate to finish Durst's term.[2]
