Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo

Major Dr. Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo (born June 30, 1941) was President of Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) from 8 November 1982 to 4 August 1983.[1] He took power following the 1982 coup d'état and was in turn overthrown in the 1983 coup d'état, which brought Thomas Sankara into power.

He is a medical doctor and currently[when?] operates a medical facility (Notre-Dame de la Paix) on the outskirts of Ouagadougou.[2]
