Playing career 2014–present

Jesse Root (born November 23, 1989) is an American ice hockey player. He is currently playing within the Bridgeport Sound Tigers organization of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Playing career

Root played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey with the Yale Bulldogs men's ice hockey team. He set an NCAA record when he scored against Minnesota nine seconds into overtime at the 2013 West Regional, and in his senior year, Root's outstanding play was recognized when he was named to the 2013–14 All-Ivy League First Team.[1]

After spending the 2014–15 season, his first full professional season, within the Texas Stars organization, Root returned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on July 2, 2015, in agreeing to a one-year deal.[2]
