Career
Pigott began his career with Charlton Athletic and made his professional debut on 6 August 2013 in a 4–0 victory over Oxford United in the Football League Cup, scoring Charlton's fourth goal from the penalty spot.[3]
Pigott made his league debut for Charlton Athletic as a 90th-minute substitute for Simon Church in a 2–1 home win over Leicester City.[4] Pigott was rewarded two days later with a three-year contract.[5]
On 30 January 2014, Pigott joined Gillingham on an initial one-month loan.[6] On 27 February 2014, Pigott extended his loan spell with the "Gills" for a further month.[7]
On 11 September 2014, Pigott joined Newport County on loan until mid-November 2014[8] and made his debut against Northampton Town on 13 September 2014.[9] His first two goals for Newport came in the 4–1 win over AFC Wimbledon two weeks later.[10]
On 9 January 2015, Pigott was loaned to Southend United, initially for one month.[11] He made his debut a day later in a 0–0 draw against Plymouth Argyle.[12] Pigott scored his first goal for the club the following week in a 3–2 away win over Oxford United.[13] In May 2015 at Wembley Stadium, Pigott scored a goal in added-time of extra-time in the 2015 Football League Two play-off Final against Wycombe Wanderers.[14] The game was decided on penalties which Southend won 7–6 with Pigott taking and scoring Southend's first penalty.[14]
On 8 August 2015, Pigott returned on a five-month loan to Southend with a view to a permanent deal.[15] However, Southend opted not to sign Pigott on a contract and he returned to Charlton in January 2016 having played in 28 games, scoring five goals.[16]
On 28 January 2016, Pigott joined League Two club Luton Town on loan for the remainder of the 2015–16 season, linking back up with Luton manager Nathan Jones who had previously been his youth coach at Charlton.[17] He scored his first two goals for the club in a 3–2 win over Oxford United on 16 April 2016.[18] His performance earned him a place in the Football League Team of the Week announced two days later.[19] Pigott scored his third goal for the club in the 2–1 win over Carlisle United a day later.[20] He scored from 30 yards on the final day of the season in a 4–1 home win over Exeter City.[21] Pigott made 15 league appearances for the club, scoring four goals during his loan spell.[22]
On 19 May 2016, Charlton announced Pigott would be leaving the club following the expiration of his contract.[23]
