Joseph "Joe" Roy Schomacker (born March 25, 1986) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 22A, which includes all or portions of Cottonwood, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, and Rock counties in the southwestern part of the state. He is also an independent public relations consultant.[1]
Education
Schomacker graduated from Luverne Senior High School in Luverne, Minnesota, then went on to Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, earning his B.A. in public administration, speech communication and political science in 2008. He served as the university's student body president from 2007-2008. In 2010, he earned his M.P.S. online from George Washington University, based in Washington, D.C.[2][3]
Minnesota House of Representatives
Schomacker was first elected to the House in 2010, rebuffing longtime former state representative and majority leader Ted Winter in his bid to return to the state legislature.[4] He was re-elected in 2012.
