John William Moses (born August 9, 1957 in Los Angeles, California), is a retired professional baseball player who played outfield in the Major Leagues from 1982 to 1992. He later was a 1st Base/Outfield Coach for the Seattle Mariners from 1998 to 2003 and the Cincinnati Reds in 2006. In 2007 he started off serving as the home field batting practice pitcher for the Mariners and then became the interim first base-coach after manager Mike Hargrove resigned. In 2008 he was hired by the Los Angeles Dodgers as the hitting coach for the AAA Las Vegas 51s. He remained with the Dodgers organization for 2009, as the hitting coach for their new AAA team, the Albuquerque Isotopes, a position he held until he was fired after the 2010 season.
Currently, Moses is the hitting instructor for the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Carolina League, a Atlanta Braves single-A affiliate.
