Johnny Welch (December 2, 1906 – September 2, 1940[1]) was a professional batter playing in Major League Baseball. He played in the majors for nine years. Welch is buried in St. Louis, Missouri.[2]

Career

From 1926-1931, Johnny played for the Chicago Cubs. He played 14 games total for the Cubs, earning only five hits with two RBIs the entire time.

From 1932-1936, he played for the Boston Red Sox. He got his first home run during his first season with them. He played many more games than he did with the White Sox, playing in 142 games for four years.

In late, 1936, Johnny was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played nine games with them before retiring.[3]
