Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Jonathan is the son of the show's leading lady, Reva Shayne, and the late Prince Richard Winslow. He was first seen on the show in 2004. He is the half-brother to Reva's four other children Dylan Lewis, Marah Lewis, Shayne Lewis and Colin O'Neill.

When Reva landed in San Cristobel after her 1990 automobile accident, where she drove off of a bridge in the Florida Keys and was presumed dead, she met Prince Richard Winslow, and she (as "Catherine") married Richard and gave birth to Jonathan.

Richard and Reva visited Jonathan after Reva recalled her life in San Cristobel, but Richard's brother Edmund was a danger to Jonathan. Marissa, Olivia's sister, had been caring for Jonathan, and to protect him from Edmund, Richard and Reva allowed Marissa to adopt him. Richard was killed in an automobile accident in 2002.

He married Lizzie Spaulding after their one-night stand resulted in a pregnancy. They eventually broke up and he married Tammy, but their happiness was short lived; she was killed on January 24, 2007, shortly after their wedding. Alan Spaulding was responsible for her death.

The character of Jonathan departed from the show shortly afterwards; he faked his and his daughter's death to get away from Alan Spaulding. his time between his faked death and his next return to Spring Field were documented in the book Guiding Light: Jonathan's story which connected to the series with murder of the police chief of tourmaline by Alan Spaulding a town that Jonathen lived in.

In January 2008, the character returned to the show with his daughter in tow. Unable to work things out with Lizzie due to her grandfather's control of her life, and basically the entire town, Jonathan was forced to flee town with his daughter again (with his former wife's blessing). he also left because Alan tried to have him arrested for a murder of the police chief of Tourmaline.

In August 2009, Jonathan returned to the show helping out Jeffrey O'Neill. He returned to town to check on Reva as she believed Jeffery was dead. He left, and returned a week later with 3 year old Sarah. She met a lot of her family, and he decided they would remain in Springfield, and he would share custody of Sarah with Lizzie and her husband Bill Lewis. A year later, Jonathan and Sarah are still living in Springfield, as Alan has passed on and is no longer a threat, and Jonathan works with Lewis construction again, and Sarah will be a big sister to Lizzie and Bill's son.
