Jon Winick MVP player of the game - Josh Foodim - His pickoff off Evan deep in their territory lead his team to victory. As well his 10 TDs were stand out.

Kick Off was held at 1:15 pm.

In the early years of the the number of entrants was small, and play was conducted with a skeleton makeshift squad. Starting in 2010, there was an influx of players and the competition grew. Football at the "Creek" is played between Christmas and New Years. It is a highlight of a vacation down in South Florida.

In the early days – pre-Championship era – the game involved three families - Winick (hosts), Gottlieb, and Foodim and various beach/creek extras. Family members came from far away to play an partake. Jon Winick (credit to Clark Street Capital and Univ of Michigan) honed his football skills in the parks of Chicago and brought an edge to the game in the early years. One story of note was that Winick played in the inaugural game, freshly stitched in the elbow, by Dr Gottlieb. He took four and that did not stop him. As Winick recruited a game from fellow "Creek" folk he gave his all – ended up opening up his wound and bled on the opposition. He didn't care as his QB prowess led his club to a hard earned victory. Winick named himself game MVP - which did not go over well with the other players. Quite the controversy but no one could argue. He went back to the Windy City bragging and boasting. That was Winick's high point in the game – he has not returned to competition since.

Tournament participation grew through from 2010 onward. Players came from New York, New Jersey, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Massachusetts.

In 2011 The game changed as the the Goodstadt family joined on. What was known as beach football then became the Frenchmans Championship. Winick's dream was in play. To have competition at the beach to the highest level. Fellow Michigan Alum to Winick, Andrew Goodstadt, anchored up a team and the Championship era began. His team consisted of his son Mason (aka the Dawgii), Ron and Evan Gottlieb and Stephen Winick (aka Papparazzi). The opposition team was QB'ed by Rob Foodim, along with his son Josh, nephew Jack Gottlieb and the oldest Goodstadt child - Brynn (aka the Brynner). In the first Championship game there were guest play appearances by Creek member Martin Winick, Vanessa Foodim, Luke Gottlieb and Dara Goodstadt. These folks did not play the game in its entirety but their appearances do count in the official championship statistics. Paparazzi used illegal equipment as well as questionable defensive tactics which were deemed illegal by the Championship participants. He as well has not been returned to future competition.

In 2012 Luke Gottlieb (now know as Lastic) joined on full time – was picked up by the Goodstadt club. Foodim picked up Sklyar and Alexa (Sessa) - though they are more part time players then full timers. The game also took on the Keschner family. Mitch Keschner brought his boys Zach and Spencer to the game. Keschners played with the Foodim squad and the game had its first southpaw quarterback. Yes, this did help the razzle dazzle of the game. offense was abundant here as the boys piled up there fantasy stats.

2013 brought the other set of twins - Philliben. Phil and Ben came to the game and have been dedicated players - Phil and Ben are on opposite sides and bring an angry bird approach to there game. Also in 2013 the game was introduced to the Depmseys. Dempsey and Brother Dempsey were both coveted by both the two teams.

In 2014 many players made there inaugural appearances. Halperin Jake - made his first appearance. Jake's older cousin Lou played in the early days but was known not to finish games - legend has it that he and Gavin would start games and walk away. Jake is going to be a participant in many future Creek Championships. The Offerman boys pushed by Mom Merry also made there debut. Oscar played with the Foodim squad and Theo with Team Goody. Theo revolutionized the game with his play calling. Specifically the Union play - cutting edge and QB Goody took it under advisement. To note: Abby Foodim made her first appearance as well as Lindsey Keschner. Both played a bunch of snaps and even caught a couple of short gainers.

The games of 2015 was scheduled for Dec 26 – Dec 30. 2015 - The War at the Shore. The popularity of this championship has grown and expects a record number of players.

Notable One time players: Stu Behrens Kyle Behrens Steinfeld twins Jesse Kanofsky
