KANW (89.1 MHz) is a radio station based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Launched in 1951, it is the oldest FM radio station in New Mexico. KANW is a public radio station run by the Albuquerque Public Schools. For most of the day it airs New Mexico music and local public radio programming, with some NPR news programming.

KANW is also broadcast on KNLK 91.9 in Santa Rosa and on KIDS 88.1 in Grants, New Mexico. There is also an HD Radio format broadcast of KANW 89.1 FM .[1]

KANW HD2

KANW broadcasts a news, information and talk format on its HD2 sub channel. Programming comes from NPR, Public Radio International, American Public Media and BBC World Service. This format is available in Grants on 91.1 K216AW and in Santa Fe on 90.3 K212AN which upgraded its signal from 44 watts horizontal to 200 watts vertical in late summer 2015. However KANW has not made this format available in Albuquerque outside of HD Radio, although 90.3 can actually be picked up in some parts of the city on some really good receivers but interference from KDRI in Grants can sometimes make listening difficult.
