KGLD (1330 AM, The Light) is a radio station broadcasting a Gospel music format.[1] Licensed to Tyler, Texas, USA, the station serves the Tyler-Longview area. The station is currently owned by Salt of the Earth Broadcasting.[2]

History

The station was assign the call letters KDOK 2-16-1956. KDOK was the biggest top-40 station in Tyler. Then in 1956 became KZAK, a country station featuring legends like Hoss Huggins. On May 18, 1990, 1330 once again became KDOK, then was dropped again on August 24, 1993 to the current KGLD. KGLD stood for K-GOLD for golden oldies.[3]
