Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (English: My Sister is One in a Thousand) was a daily Indian soap opera with the first series airing on STAR Plus from 3 October 2011 through 13 September 2013 and eventually the show got replaced by the mythlogical series Mahabharat. The show is based on the relationship of two sisters, Jeevika (played by Krystle D'Souza) and Manvi (played by Nia Sharma).

Plot summary

The story is about two sisters. Jeevika is the elder sister and is mature, well-tempered, and cautious whereas Manvi is fun-loving, bold, and loquacious. After the death of their parents, they leave Delhi and return to their ancestral home in Rishikesh. Enter Viren and Virat Vadhera, two handsome brothers who come from an extremely wealthy family in Chandigarh. Viren is a well-established lawyer, whereas Virat is still discovering his love for music. Jeevika and Viren get married so she leaves to Chandigarh with the Vadhera family. Manvi is saddened by her leave but also happy for her new married life. It is revealed that Manvi has blood cancer but Viren, Virat, Jeevika or Manvi don't know yet. Meanwhile, Virat falls in love with Manvi but Manvi thinks of Viraat as a friend only. After a series of events and once everyone finds out that Manvi has blood cancer, Jeevika, Virat and Manvi go to Mumbai to get Manvi's treatment started. Over there, she realizes her love for Virat but denies it in front of Viraat because she doesn't want to ruin his life since she has blood cancer. After many problems and Manvi's successful treatment, Manvi and Virat get married. Still, the four characters face a lot of problems which change many things but the strong bond between Jeevika and Manvi. Jeevika and Manvi both have a daughters who are named Mansi and Janvi respectively.
