Kasos Massacre

The Kasos massacre was the massacre of Greek civilians during the Greek War of Independence by Ottoman forces.
On 7 June 1824, Mehmet Ali's men landed on Kasos and killed around 7,000 inhabitants.[1] Reprisals were committed after the Greek Christian population rebelled against the Ottoman Empire; the island was burnt to the ground.
