Katsunobu Katō

Katsunobu Kato (加藤 勝信 Katō Katsunobu?, born November 22, 1955) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Kurashiki, Okayama and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he worked at the Ministry of Finance from 1979 to 1995. He was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2003 after unsuccessful runs in 1998 and 2000.

His career also comprises the following positions:[1]

  • Director, Health, Labor and Welfare Division of LDP
  • Director, Committee on Health, Labour and Welfare of Diet
  • Chairman, Committee on Organizations Involved with Health and Welfare of LDP
  • Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary

Katō is affiliated to the openly revisionist lobby Nippon Kaigi.[2]
