Kavakköy (Greek: Λευκή Lefkī́ [1]) is a village in Gelibolu district of Çanakkale Province. (European side of the province.) It is situated in the Thracean plains at about Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.. It is close to both the Aegean Sea at the west and the Marmara Sea at the south. The distance to Gelibolu is about 35 kilometres (22 mi). The population of Kavakköy was 2779 [2] as of 2013. The village was founded in 1865. According to the mayor’s page, the town was probably Lizimahiya of the 4th century BC.[3] During Ottoman era the name of the town was Seydikavak.
