Kent P. Jackson

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Kent P. Jackson (born 1949) is a professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University (BYU) who has written on Joseph Smith's translation of and commentary on the Bible.

Jackson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received his bachelor's degree from BYU. Jackson holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan.

Among the books by Jackson are From Apostasy to Restoration and The Restored Gospel and the Book of Genesis. Jackson was also the editor of the 1996 publications of Solomon Spaulding's Manuscript Found.

Jackson is a Latter-day Saint. Among other church positions he has served on the Gospel Doctrine lesson-writing committee.
